Jad Stepp is the managing shareholder of Stepp & Sullivan, a boutique firm specializing in the litigation of commercial, maritime, aviation and products liability lawsuits. For over 35 years he has been trying lawsuits in both federal and state court, and has been the lead trial lawyer for owners and operators of commercial airlines and vessels involved in major accidents in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America.

Jad has been lead trial attorney in a wide variety of cases.

  • Numerous negotiations for individuals and businesses regarding contract disputes and business disputes
  • Over 1500 single personal injury/death cases.
  • Explosions including multiple injuries and deaths aboard the OMI Charger in Galveston.
  • Death of 16 aboard Lan Chili flight in South America.
  • Death and injury to approximately 131 passengers in Tan Sasha crash in Honduras.
  • Death of the crew involved in the Concorde crash in Paris, France.
  • Collision and toxic exposure to over 20,000 Plaintiff’s in Port Arthur, Texas.
  • Collision and pollution damage to 1200 Plaintiffs in Galveston, Texas.
  • Hundreds of product liability subrogation cases for individuals with faulty toilet flush valves in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico recovering 6.4 million USD.
  • Numerous injury and death cases arising out of fixed wing and helicopter accidents in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America.

Mr. Stepp is a graduate of the University of Texas and St. Mary’s School of Law. He clerked for the Honorable Owen Cox and Honorable Hayden Head, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.


Jad is a native Texan and is a versatile trial lawyer with over 35 years of experience in cases involving maritime and admiralty incidents, automobile accidents, aviation mishaps/accidents, contract disputes, mass tort cases, employment discrimination, personal injury and death cases, product liability cases and trucking/transportation cases. His practice is primarily in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico, but he has handled a number of cases nationally and internationally.
